Error in CMQ

Eagle-eyed recipients of the fine RSCM publication Church Music Quarterly and its accompanying booklet The Network may spot in the December edition (which our administrator received through the post today) that on page 20 of The Network we are listed as singing Choral Evensong in Dundee on 5th March 2016. 

We aren't. It's a typo. 

That date and venue relates to our wee sister choir RSCM Young Scottish Voices, not us.  So please go there at that time on that date to support them, but you won't hear RSCM Scottish Voices singing.

For those who subscribe to the splendid RSCM magazine Church Music Quarterly (CMQ), please note that there is an unfortunate error in the latest edition of the accompanying events magazine The Network, which is landing on doormats around now.

RSCM Scottish Voices are not, and have never intended, singing in Dundee on Monday January 6th 2014, the correct date for our much anticipated return visit to St Paul's cathedral in that fine city is Saturday 6th September 2014.

Whilst I'd urge you to visit Dundee don't do so in January expecting to hear us sing, but please do join us in the hopefully much less wintry weather in September!

Our next meeting, the first of 2014, is on Saturday 15th February in Linlithgow, and all the correct dates, times, venues and information for all our events is contained on the Future Services and Events page of this site.

Omission from CMQ

The latest edition of the Royal School of Church Music's rather excellent publication Church Music Quarterly (CMQ) with its sister publication The Network, unfortunately contains a couple of errors by omission whereby technology has conspired against publishing details of two of our forthcoming events, a visit to Old Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Edinburgh on Saturday 28th April, and a visit to Dunfermline Abbey on Saturday 19th May.

Rest assured, despite these visits not being listed in the official RSCM magazine, we WILL be going to each and you just need to check back here for further details like the music lists in due course.

Church Music Quarterly

I was asked recently to contribute an article on RSCM Scottish Voices to the fine RSCM publication Church Music Quarterly.

Not having any guidance as to the length of article expected, my first draft was something like 750 words long, but that's now been negotiated down to 250-300 words although it may be edited further!

The next edition is due in September, so I guess if it gets published it'll be in that one, and if so I'll be sure to post details here!
